Janine Doolan LLB

Janine Doolan qualified as a solicitor 15 years ago with a prominent criminal East End law firm who represented some of London's most notorious criminals. She then worked for many years with EBR Attridge Solicitors in South London, the fifth largest criminal law firm in the country. She was a duty solicitor on 7 police station schemes and 5 magistrates court schemes and gained a wealth of experience on a wide range of cases such as murder, complex fraud, drugs importation and sexual offences.

She worked on many high profile cases including the Damilola Taylor murder and R v S, the only war crime trial in the UK. This case remains a key test case that established a number of authorities. She also undertook many police station interviews with the Flying Squad and is an extremely experienced police station advisor.

Janine is the head of the Crown Court Department and runs a heavy weight criminal practice ranging from Conspiracy to Murder, Complex frauds, large scale intent to supply cases to more general robbery and assault cases. No case is too big or too small and all our clients are treated the same and receive a first class service.

Janine also specialises in prison law and is the supervisor of the department and assisted by Sara. She conducts her own advocacy at parole hearings, lifer panels and has extensive experience in adjudications.

Janine is married to a leading Liverpool criminal barrister and as such has excellent contacts within the Criminal Bar which assists us in ensuring that all our clients receive a first class service.

Andrew Egerton  LLB Hons  

Criminal Advocate 'All Higher Courts'

Andrew embarked on his endeavours to become a Criminal Lawyer in 1999 when he worked for a large Criminal Practice in Belfast, Northern Ireland that dealt primarily with Serious Crime, including Terrorism. The firm dealt with cases such as the murder of prominent Belfast solicitor Pat Finucane who was murdered by loyalists in 1989.

Andrew attended the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland obtaining a 2:1 in Law and Politics before moving to the College of Law in Chester to complete his Legal Practitioners Course and soon after joined a large Merseyside Criminal Practice where his training contract was completed. At that time he was involved in managing a large Crown Court case load and notable cases include one of the largest Cannabis importations in the UK with a street value of £34 million.

Upon qualification, Andrew worked in a number of Criminal Practices in Merseyside before his fellow directors and himself set up DDE Law Ltd which has enjoyed great success due to the professionalism of the service given.

Andrew works in the Magistrates Court Department where he specialises in Trial Advocacy and also conducts Crown Court Advocacy, and has a particular interest in drug and firearms cases.

Outside of work Andrew is a trustee on the Board of Directors for two charities that provide humanitarian aid to Kenya and deals with any legal issues within those organisations.

Helen Dugdale LLB

Helen Dugdale qualified as a Solicitor 19 years ago and has worked throughout the Merseyside area as a Criminal Solicitor since then. She has worked for the last 14 years predominately in the Knowsley area and is committed to representing the people of the locality. Helen sees the client as an individual whose needs are met by personal attention to ensure their case is properly presented.

Helen has been involved in some of the major reported cases in Merseyside, including cases that have featured in Merseyside Blues, a Television broadcast on national TV where Helen was the defence advocate for one of the males initially arrested for Murder. He was eventually never charged. She has been involved in other notable cases that have made the national press and Crimewatch UK.

Helen works predominantly in the Magistrates and Police Station departments within DDE Law and her areas of speciality and expertise include serious arrestable offences including Murder, Manslaughter and Sexual offences. She has a niche speciality in Motoring law and actions brought under the proceeds of Crime Act. Helen has been responsibility for having in excess of £250,000 returned to various clients from the Merseyside Police.

Helen is a strong advocate for free access to justice for all and participates in providing free independent legal advice for local charities.
